Chicago Coffee Shops by Declan

You can be anyone at a coffee shop.

shake again for another

When I first moved to Chicago, there were a lot of rankings. Lists of places to try. 22 year old me decided to keep a ranking of all the coffee shops I visited (and surprisingly not burgers, although I love those probably equally as much).

I refer to the list in Apple Notes to spark my mind on past places that might fit my current vibe when I’m undecided on where to go — sometimes that takes too long. And I’ve always wanted to do something cool with that list.

So this is that. An experience to make that decision.

Uses OpenAI’s new Decision API for the “fast” generative experience (as you’re typing), and Vercel’s Eve Agent for the “slow” generative experience (when you click enter).

It was fun, and a sort of farewell letter to Chicago coffee shops as I leave for LA.

But I’ll continue going to coffee shops there, because you can be anyone at a coffee shop. Even a different version of yourself than you were earlier in the day.
